Polished: Nail Polish Strips

Happy Wednesday!

I know this is not a new product, but I thought I would review them for you in case you were thinking of trying them.

Day 4, still going strong:

Day 7: pretty chipped

Day 10: peeling. badly. some nails only had half of the strip left.

I removed the strips this morning with nail polish remover and I wish I had done it sooner! My nails look terrible now. They are peeling and soft. I think had I removed them at day 7, we wouldn't have had this problem, but I really wanted to see how they looked at day 10 since the package says they will last up to 10 days.

Review: I enjoyed the intricate look that I could not have achieved by myself with just plain old nail polish. They are MUCH cheaper than a manicure and last longer than the paint does. I believe that removing them at day 7 would avoid the peeling nails issue and I would be very happy!

Happy Wednesday, friends!

Polished: The Voice Knock Off

Does anybody else watch The Voice? I really love that show. I have a favorite from the season...Juliet Simms. She's so cool and has her own style and her voice is killer. She had a manicure during one of the shows that was so cool. Hers was in black and silver, but I did mind in gold and purple.

Step 1: Select 2 contrasting, but complementary colors. Paint your ring ringer your accent color (for me, purple) and the other nails your other color (for me, gold).

Step 2: Let dry for at least 2 hours, but longer is better. I waited 6 and it was perfect.

Step 3: Using scotch tape, create a line down the middle of your middle and index fingers. Using your accent color, paint on the expose potion of your nail.

Step 4: Immediately, while the paint is still wet, slowly pull scotch tape up, from one end to the other.

Step 5: Paint a clear top coat. Voila! Beautiful nails!

Here's Juliet Simms performance of It's a Man's, Man's, Man's World. Amazing!

Polished: Color Blocking

Welcome to my new addition...Polished Wednesday! I keep my nails painted most of the time, so I'm hoping to show you some fun colors and new styles. Also, I really love other beauty products, like lipstick and eyeshadow, so I will share some of those with you as well!

Why not start off the first post with a super fun way to paint your nails...color blocking! I just ordered the Zoya Blogger Collection from, where else...Birchbox!

I saw a picture of someone actually doing this same style and I loved how it looked. You paint your thumb, ring, and pinky finger 1 color (for me, the grapefruit color in the middle called Kate). You paint your index and middle finger another color (for me, the orange one on the right called Coraline). Then, for me, I painted the light pink shade called Belle, which is very sheer and sparkly, over the color on all nails.

I like this look because they are all in the same color family, however, I think it would really pretty with some bold colors, too, like teal and purple, or mint and fuchsia.

Let me know if you try this! I would love to see a picture!

Have a very happy Wednesday!
