The Wartburg Castle

As mentioned previously, the Wartburg castle is the reason we went to Eisenach. It's the castle where Martin Luther translated the New Testament. We walked through Eisenach to get to the castle, which involved a walk through the forest. The castle was beautiful and the walk was pretty, but steep and hot.

This says "Footpath to the Wartburg" and was on the gate that let us into the forest.

But it was so worth it. Look at that view!

There was a small lookout point we found and I'm glad we did. The view was spectacular.

The cafe at the castle had ice cream and bratwurst. We had a little dessert and then dinner.

You just never know when you'll see something beautiful!
